Rare faux marbre Piedmontese pedestal
 

Exceptional Italian neoclassical pedestal with superb faux marbre simulating pink granite with brecciated panels. The square pedestal with tapering chamfered corners rests on lion paws standing on a square base. The top is raised on concave sides. The pedestal is decorated with very finely carved gilded floral swags. Original paint and gilding.
