Empire Ormolu Bacchante clock
 

Fine Empire ormoulu clock with movement signed “Millot à Paris”. The clock depicts a bacchante who sits atop the movement and holds a grape cluster above a wine goblet. A satyr child plays tambourines alongside her, his leg resting on an overturned wine jug. The area under the clock dial is decorated with entwined grape vines above a frieze that depicts Cupid at play with children. Fine original gilding. [Lacking the base of the wine jug. Back bezel missing.]
