Acajou box by David Roentgen
 
Inlaid Louis XVI mahogany stepped box by David Roentgen.  The three steps have quarter-round brass moldings at each base. The bottom section is inlaid with vertical strips of light and dark wood; the upper sections are inlaid with horizontal bandings.
The mirrored top opens to reveal a well with a push release for the spring-loaded side drawers, each containing a forward opening sub drawer. The push release also unlatches a forward opening spring-loaded long drawer in the base. [Lacking key.]
