Paris porcelain 005
Fine pair Paris porcelain gilded and painted neoclassic vases. The vases are decorated on the front with exceptionally well-painted scenes in the manner of Alexandre-Évariste Fragonard, depicting maidens protecting children in stormy weather at the moment of a thunder-clap. The backs are decorated with finely etched gilded neoclassical motifs on a mirror ground portraying a lyre above a swag with two flanking putti each holding a feather. [Minor wear to the gilding at the edges of the bases.]
