sculpture 018

Pair well chased Italian bronze putto harvest figures on ebonized wood bases. One putto leans against a rock and holds a sickle in one hand and grass in the other. The second putto leans against a tree trunk and a grape-filled barrel and holds a gobelet aloft with one hand while squeezing  grapes.

The figures were probably two of the “Four Seasons”, representing “Summer” and “Fall”. [Bases later.]
