Fine pair of Sèvres hard paste vases ovoïdes, circa 1780. The vases have a beau-bleu ground with exceptional gilding.  The reserves are finely painted with historical military scenes on one side, and military trophies on the other. [One top is repaired. Both rims chipped.]

Painter’s mark: “HP” for Henri Prévost.

Another pair of vases of this model but in soft-paste porcelain is in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
