Pair of Meissen groups depicting the "Four Continents" on Louis XVI ormoulu mounts. The figure of Europe holds aloft a royal orb, while America holds a bow and arrow and sits astride an alligator. The figure of Africa holds a piece of coral and sits astride a lion, while Asia holds a smoking censer. The groups are sculpted by Frederick Elias Meyer. The pair are mounted on finely chased gilt bronze doré  bases of the Louis XVI period. [Small repairs and missing pieces.]
