Pair Louis XV/XVI ormoulu chenets. Each facing asymmetrical firedog is composed of reticulated acanthus scrolls on an architectural base with a small covered urn resting on an incurvated plinth at the other end. An identical pair is at Versailles in the Pièce de la Vaisselle d’or, the former Cabinet of Madame Adélaïde. (See: Versailles, Number 12, page 53.)
