Pair of transitional oval marquetry tables signed Charles Topino. Each oval top has a mirror image composition depicting an elaborate bouquet in a basket surrounded by an engraved laurel frame. The frieze, marquetried with floral swags on a light ground has a single drawer with the inner sides veneered in citronnier. The oval stretcher shelf at the junction of the straight uprights and the delicate cabriole legs is veneered with a spiral composition of cornflowers. The table has pierced ormoulu galleries, satyr mascarons, and sabots. [Glass tops. Age related cracks.]
