Louis XV/XVI sewing table by Brice Peridiez

Rare Louis XV/Louis XVI marquetry sewing table signed B Peridiez. The three-legged round table is veneered with fine marquetry; the top with a central reserve of a musical trophy surrounded by floral sprays with a bow above and a pair of doves below. The upper portion has a single drawer with the friezes decorated with floral marquetry. The very unusual stretcher section has two semi-circular compartments with lifting doors veneered on both surfaces with flower marquetry. The interior marquetry is particularly fresh since it has been protected for most of its life. Brice Peridiez became a master in 1738.
