Louis XVI Mahogany commode-secretaire

Louis XVI mahogany commode-secrétaire. The façade of the top “drawer”, when pulled out, becomes a fall-front when released by two buttons on the sides; this becomes part of a leather covered writing surface in front of a nest of drawers. The center of the nest contains a removable box with two lateral secret drawers; the right is inscribed “Roentgen-Neuwied”, although the commode is probably not by Roentgen, but rather in his manner.  Each side has a shallow cabinet containing adjustable bookshelves behind a hinged door. White marble top.
